Lainie Doodle said...: Mel Gibson wants us to believe he's "sorry" and "trying" to do better. Well, we all know SORRY and TRYING have other meanings* --if those are the ones he's talking about then yeah, I agree.

It doesn't appear that the recipients of these so-called apologies are buying into them. Maybe Mel is doing something about his drinking problem, but I think that's the LEAST of his problems. Good for him if he's sticking with his 12-step program. This could save innocent lives. As for the being sorry part, exactly WHAT does he claim to be sorry ABOUT? Seems he's mostly sorry that he got CAUGHT driving drunk. As for his anti-Semitic remarks... again, he got CAUGHT simply letting slip what he truly believes. Is there a 12-step program for bigotry? I think not.

So Mel, while you might be lucky enough to recover from alcoholism, your inner feelings are probably going to be with you for life. And the bigotry, in my opinion, is a much BIGGER disease (for which you will receive no sympathy) than the alcoholism.

So sad. And to think you were once my ideal of what the perfect man would look like -- which just goes to prove that old saying that beauty's only skin deep.
